From Park City, USA
(December 6, 2024) – Bianca Ribi took gold in the first of two two-woman bobsled races in Park City, leading the way in another Candian sweep of the North American Cup podium.
Ribi and Niamh Haughey had the second quickest start of the one-heat race, and found time at the bottom of the 2002 Olympic track to take the lead from the teams of Lauren Brzozowski and Lolo Jones, as well as Mackenzie Stewart and Morgan Ramsay, who tied after their first runs.
From there the only team to get with two tenths of a second were Canadians Kristen Bujnowski and Charlotte Ross, who matched Ribi’s start time and slid to .12 of the lead.
Bujnowski’s drive was enough to bump Erica Voss and Eden Wilson to third, as Ribi took gold, Bujnowski silver, and Voss bronze for the third straight two-woman bobsled sweep for Canada to start the North American Cup season.
Stewart and Brzozowski finished tied for fourth, with Riley Tejcek and Kelsey Kiel in sixth.
Sin-Rong Lin finished seventh, Emily Bradley of USA eighth, Thailand’s Agnese Campeol ninth and Adanna Johnson tenth for Jamaica.
