Canada Continues NAC Women’s Podium Dominance in Park City

From Park City, USA

(December 4, 2024) – Erica Voss led yet another Canadian sweep of the North American Cup women’s monobob podium, once again with teammates Kristen Bujnowski and Bianca Ribi behind her.

Voss had the second quickest start of both heats with a pair of 5.58s off the top. After the first heat she led Bujnowski and Ribi, who were tied for second behind her with American Lauren Brzozowski only .24 back in fourth.

In the second heat Bujnowski broke the tie with Ribi with what would be the quickest slide of the competition to take the lead. Voss was the final slider down, and despite being out-slid in the second heat, Voss had enough in her first heat to hold off Bujnowski by .06 and take gold, her second of her career in monobob.

Bujnowski took silver, and Ribi took bronze for Canada’s fourth straight monobob podium sweep to start the season and sixth straight in either women’s bobsled discipline.

Brzozowski came close to ending the sweep streak, as she finished just .06 behind Ribi in fourth, well ahead of Canadian Mackenzie Stewart in fifth.

Riley Tejcek rounded out the top six.

Spain’s Leanna Garcia finished ninth, two spots ahead of USA’s Emily Bradley in 11th.

At the halfway point of the women’s monobob season, Erica Voss holds a 34 point lead over Bianca Ribi, with Mackenzie Stewart in third. Riley Tejcek is fourth, with Kristen Bujnowski fifth. Leanna Garcia is currently sixth.
