Bujnowski Leads Canadian NAC Monobob Sweep in Park City

From Park City, USA

(December 3, 2024) – Kristen Bujnowski led the charge in a Canadian sweep of the women’s monobob podium in the third round of the North American Cup on Tuesday.

In the first heat, Bujnowski took the lead from the fourth starting spot, unseating teammate Erica Voss, who had led off the event.

In the second heat Bianca Ribi took the lead with Voss and Bujnowski still to go, guaranteeing Canada a victory. Voss was next, and put down a good enough run to take the lead from Ribi.

Bujnowski was the last slider off the top. Her start time was the fastest of the heat, and her times were quickest at every split on her way to a .12 victory over Voss, with Ribi .41 back in third.

The gold for Bujnowski was her second in monobob action and seventh medal in her last eight races in the single-seater.

For Voss, her silver was her third straight medal to start the season. Ribi’s bronze kept her streak of podiums going in North American Cup monobob action. She has yet to finish worse than third.

The United States’ Lauren Brzozowski finished fourth and had a top three start in her second heat. Canada put all four sliders in the top five with Mackenzie Stewart in fifth as the last slider within a second of Bujnowski’s time.

USA’s Riley Tejcek rounded out the top six with a sixth place finish.

Spain’s Leanna Garcia finished ninth with a pair of consistent runs, while USA’s Emily Bradley finished 12th in her first start of the NAC season.
