Zheng Leads Chinese AC Podium Sweep in Yanqing

From Yanqing, CHN

(November 30, 2024) – Ruojun Zheng led a sweep of the podium in the penultimate race of the men’s skeleton Asian Cup calendar.

Zheng had the fast time in the first heat, with Zhongxu Lin and Guoqing Yu in second and third going into the second run.

On that second run Yu set what would be the quick single run downtime of the day. That was enough to edge out Lin with only Zheng to go.

Zheng’s second heat was over a half of a second slower than Yu’s, but enough to take the win by .24 over Yu.

Zheng’s win was his first, and first medal in three races on the Asian Cup tour.

Taiwan’s Chun-Hung Chiang finished fourth, up from seventh in the first heat, while Qinzhou Bai finished fifth for China. Taiwan’s Lin-Wei Peng rounded out the top six.

Malaysia’s Jonathan Yaw finished seventh.
