From Yanqing, CHN
(November 30, 2024) – Korea’s Sujung Hong came from behind to win her first career IBSF international race.
Hong trailed China’s Guanshuo Wang and teammate Minji Kim going into the second heat of action on the 2022 Olympic track. But in the second run Hong threw down the quick slide of the competition to take the lead from Yeeun Chung.
From there, neither Kim nor Wang were able to come anywhere near Hong’s effort as she won by 1.6 seconds over Wang.
It was Hong’s first victory. The silver for Wang was her fifth straight medal on the Asian Cup tour.
Wang edged out Kim by just .06 to take her third straight bronze medal. She’s medaled in four of her last five races.
Yeeun Chung and Vietnam’s Khanh Nguyen rounded out the five sled field.
