From Yanqing, CHN
(November 24, 2024) – Olympic bronze medalist Wengang Yan once again slid to gold on his home track in Yanqing, and once again cruised to victory.
Yan held a lead over teammate Guoqing Yu by just .17 going into the second heat. But in the second heat Yan threw down a big run to eventually win by 1.07 seconds over Yu.
Yan’s gold was his second straight and third in four races. For Yu, the silver was his second straight.
Zhongxu Lin took bronze to give China all three podium spots, as well as fourth place with Ruojun Zheng just off the podium.
Malaysia’s Jonathan Yaw was the only non-Chinese slider in the top six in fifth place, with China’s Qinzhou Bai in sixth.
