(November 23, 2024) – Taylor Austin took his second straight North American Cup gold in two-man bobsled, this time accompanied by Mark Zanette.
The Candian duo slid to a .2 second advantage over the team of Geoff Gadbois and Boone Niederhofer after one heat, with the remainder of the field at least a half of a second behind.
In the second heat the duo were again the quickest at the bottom, enough to give Austin his second straight NAC two-man gold to start the 2024/2025 season.
Gadbois and Niederhofer finished in second, well ahead of the remainder of the field. It was Gadbois’ second straight silver medal as well.
The teams of Jay Dearborn and Kenny-Luketa M’Pindou finished third to put two Canadian sleds on the podium.
Pat Norton and Keaton Bruggeling finished just off of the podium in fourth place, ahead of Israel’s AJ Edelman and Regnars Kirejevs in fifth.
Brazilian Olympian Edson Bindilatti and Edson Martins rounded out the top six.
Cyrus Gray finished seventh for Canada, while USA’s Grady Mercer was eighth.
