IBSF Releases Olympic Season Calendar

From Lausanne, SUI

(September 27, 2024) – The International Bobsled & Skeleton Federation released their tentative calendar for the 2025/2026 season, including dates for the World Cup, Europe Cup and North American Cup tours.

The 2025/2026 IBSF World Cup campaign is currently set to kick off in Cortina d’Ampezzo for what would be the test event prior to the Olympic Games before heading over the border to Igls for the second stop. Lillehammer will host two events back-to-back to round out the 2025 portion of the calendar.

After the Christmas break the tour will stop in Winteberg for the fifth race of the season. The sixth race will be held as the European Championships in St. Moritz. Altenberg will host the seventh race on the schedule the weekend of January 16-18 as the final race to get points to qualify for the Olympic Winter Games.

The World Cup tour is then off through the Olympic Winter Games through the 22nd of February.

The final race on the 2025/2026 schedule is set to be held on the rebuilt track in Königssee the weekend of March 6-8.

Off of the World Cup schedule for the Olympic season are any of the North American or Asian tracks, with the tour taking place entirely in Europe for the first time in recent memory.

The 2025 World Championships are set to take place in Lake Placid in March.

The 2025/2026 Europe Cup and North American Cup schedules also were released. EC bobsled races will take place in Lillehammer, Altenberg, Winterberg, Königssee, Igls and St. Moritz, while the skeleton tour races will be held in Lillehammer, Altenberg, Igls, Königssee, Bludenz, Winterberg and St. Moritz. The St. Moritz date runs parallel to the bobsled portion of the Olympic Games.
