(January 18, 2024) – Pascal Kunze and Max Trippner slide to a comically big victory in Bludenz Junior World Cup action as the only team who finished clean twice.
Kunze and Trippner had both the fast start in both heats, and slid to an eight-plus second lead over USA’s Logan Barnes and Gavin Davis, with Corbinian Hänel and John Kühmel and Maksymilian Gutowski and Patryk Prechitko both over a half of a second back after crashes.
In the second heat Hänel and Kühmel had a great run, .3 faster than Barnes and Davis’s second effort but nowhere near enough to move up.
Barnes and Davis slid clean, enough to move into the lead with Kunze and Trippner still to go.
Kunze and Trippner had an even quicker second run and took gold by over nine seconds ahead of Barnes and Davis, with Hänel and Kühmel in third, 37.9 seconds back.
