He didn’t want to slide four-man last year, but Beat Hefti is your leader with one heat left in 2012. The Swiss pilot’s sled is the only one to make it down in less than 59 seconds. Russian Alexander Zubkov is second, just ahead of his teammate Alexander Kasjanov. Max Arndt is fourth, and is the only German in the Top 5 at the moment, despite Germany sweeping the podium last year. Steven Holcomb in USA 1 is fifth.

American Nick Cunningham is in a tie for 14th with Canadian Chris Spring. Cory Butner had a rough run and will not see the second heat, finishing in 24th. All three Canadian sleds make the second heat, with Justin Kripps leading the way in a three-way tie for 10th. Yesterday’s winner, Lyndon Rush, is 19th going into Heat 2. It was a good run for John Jackson in GBR 1, he’d tied for 8th.
