From Laas, ITA
(January 6, 2024) – Matthias and Peter Lambacher won their second straight FIL World Cup race, this time in a one-heat race in Laas.
Facing a course that had seen significant snowfall over the prior few days, the Italian duo started from the final starting spot and immediately found themselves behind Austria’s Max Pichler and Nico Edlinger.
The Italians were behind at every split, but where the Austrians had a bit of trouble toward the end of their run the Italians were clean enough to move back ahead and win by .2.
The end result mirrored the season opener in Kühtai for both teams where they went one-two.
In third was Tobias Paur and Andreas Hofer, who took bronze in their first race of the season.
Peter and Dominik Neupauer finished fourth, while Bine Mekina and Simon Dietz finished fifth for Germany. Gabriel Halcin and Budzak of Slovakia rounded out the six sled field in sixth.
