Alexander Zubkov keeps the streak alive. Max Arndt came into the second heat with just a .01 lead over the Russian, but Zubkov’s run was just about perfect, and Russia 1 has yet to be beaten in the 2012/2013 season. Arndt’s time was good enough for second, with Oskars Melbardis taking bronze for the first time in the season. Thomas Florschuetz finishes fourth, marking the best overall German effort of the season, while Beat Hefti finishes fifth in his return to World Cup four-man competition.
Steven Holcomb couldn’t shake a less-than-perfect run and finishes second for the United States, while countryman Nick Cunningham jumps up to 11th while Cory Butner gets credit for 23rd. Justin Kripps led the way for Canada with a 10th place run, despite a near-disastrous issue with the driver’s push bar. Lyndon Rush hops up three spots to 13th, while Chris Spring finishes 22nd. It was a very consistent day for John Jackson, as the Brit finishes 8th.
