2012/2013 FIBT World Cup – Round 4 – Women’s Bobsled – Heat 1

From Winterberg, Germany

Winterberg continues to be a very, very fast track this weekend, and 12 of the 20 women’s sleds managed to beat the old track record.  Anja Schneiderheinze sets the track record, which was broken three times this heat.  On top of that, Elana Meyers and Katie Eberling put down a new start record, and sit in second place just .01 behind the Germany 3 sled.  Kaillie Humphries will go into the second heat third for the first time this year, just .05 out of the lead.  Christina Hengster and Sandra Kiriasis round out the top 5 going into the second heat.

Solid run for Jamie Greubel in USA 3, she’s currently 8th, while teammate Jazmine Fenlator in USA 1 had a bumpy run down, and will go into heat 2 in 13th.  Jennifer Ciochetti in CAN 2 is 10th, while Paula Walker in GBR 1 is 11th.

One sled rolled, but the BEL 2 team did cross the line and will be able to take a second heat.
