From Lake Placid, USA
(November 19, 2023) – Kristopher Horn won his first career IBSF North American Cup gold medal as a pilot in four-man bobsled action in Lake Placid.
Horn and his team had the quick push in the first heat, and Horn drove them to second place after one run, .27 behind the previous day’s gold medalist Pat Norton.
On his second run Horn slid to the lead, besting teammate Geoff Gadbois by .32 with only Norton to go. Norton’s team gave him an identical push from their first heat. Norton had the quick split most of the day down, but major trouble late dropped the Canadian team to third.
Missing out on a medal was Jinsu Kim’s Korean team. They struggled in the first run, but did have the second quickest second run of the second heat.
