(November 19, 2023) – Kaysha Love stayed perfect on the North American Cup two-woman bobsled season with a commanding victory on Sunday.
Love and brakewoman Azaria Hill Had the two quickest pushes of the competition and Love had the two best drives of the day to win by 1.52 seconds over Canada’s Melissa Lotholz and Alex Klein.
Love’s gold medal was her third straight between monobob and two-woman.
Lotholz and Klein were the final team off the top in the first heat and finished the run in second place. On their second run they slid into the lead with Love and Hill to go and finished second.
Lotholz’s silver was her third straight. She’s medaled in all four races since her return from a season off.
The United States put two teams on the podium, with Lauren Brzozowski and Macy Tarlton taking bronze. The duo entered the second heat in fourth, .07 out of the medals. They picked up .05 on their start and Brzozowski had a solid drive to move into the lead.
Brzozowski’s medal was her fifth two-woman medal in her last six races.
Riley Tejcek and Sydney Milani missed out on a medal in fourth place, .16 off the podium. Teammates Sylvia Hoffman and Jestena Mattson finished fifth, while Slovakia”s VIktoria Cernanska and Lucia Mokrasova rounded out the top six.
The teams of Eden Wilson and Morgan Ramsay, Mackenzie Stewart and Caelan Brown, and Erica Voss and Cadence Chernoff rounded out the nine sled field.
The IBSF North American Cup moves to Whistler at the beginning of December.
