(November 9, 2023) – The IBSF has made modifications to the 2023/2024 World Cup schedule, notably moving races from Yanqing to elsewhere on the schedule.
The races affected are both of the women’s bobsled events. The monobob race has been moved to the Igls date, while the two-woman race has been moved to the Sigulda date. Both races will be held on Friday of the race weekend prior to the skeleton events scheduled for that day.
While there was no specific reasoning given for the change in schedule, there doesn’t appear to be many teams planning on making the trek to Yanqing on the bobsled side of things, and it may have been easier to preemptively move the women’s events to other dates on the calendar.
The men’s bobsled portion of the event, as well as men’s and women’s skeleton, are all still set to go. The race weekend will kick off with two-man bobsled on Thursday night, November 16 at 9:00 PM EST (10:00 AM Friday morning local time). Men’s and women’s skeleton will finish out Friday’s event. Saturday and Sunday will see four-man bobsled contested at 5:00 AM eastern time.
