From Park City, USA
There aren’t many people in the world who can call a 5th place skeleton world cup effort “disappointing”, but Katie Uhlaender is one of those people. After a tough first heat left her 5th overall in Lake Placid, USA’s Uhlaender came back today to win in Park City. Starting the second heat just behind Great Britain’s Lizzy Yarnold, Uhlaender set a blistering second time to win her first gold of 2012. Yarnold comes back from an equally tough run in Lake Placid to finish second, and Anja Huber finishes third, her best run of the season thus far.
The USA’s Kimber Gabryszak finishes 15th on home ice, while Canada flips its finishing order around from Lake Placid, with Cassie Hawrysh finishing a career (in two starts) best 4th, Mellisa Hollingsworth 7th and Sarah Reid T-11th. Great Britain continued their success with Yarnold taking silver, Shelley Rudman finishing 6th and Donna Creighton T-11th.
