From Bludenz, AUT
(January 20, 2023) – Anka Jänicke cruised to victory in Bludenz to conclude the 2022/2023 Junior World Cup season, taking gold by over .4.
The German had the two fastest runs of the race. On her first run she opened up a .2 second advantage over teammate Alina Bräutigam. Her second run was another .2 quicker, this time ahead of Austria’s Barbara Allmaier. The end result was a .462 victory over Allmaier.
The win was the third in six races this season for Jänicke.
Behind Jänicke, Allmaier held off Germany’s Antonia Pietschmann for silver, with Pietschmann winning bronze.
Austria’s Teresa Maria Kirchmair finished fourth, ahead of Bräutigam and Anna Cezikova who rounded out the top six in Bludenz.
With her bronze medal, Pietschmann won the season title, 51 points ahead of Bräutigam. Jänicke finished the season in third.
