From Jaufental, ITA
(January 13, 2023) – The team of Patrick and Matthias Lambacher once again won gold, this time taking the top spot in Jaufental.
The duo trailed Patrick Pigneter and Florian Clara by .26 going into the second heat, but rallied back with the fastest run of the competition on their second run. Pigneter and Clara couldn’t match their Italian teammates’ second run, and as they crossed the line found themselves .15 back to win silver.
Mathias Troger and Daniel Gruber led the Italian sweep of the doubles podium. They were unable to keep pace with their teammates, but finished well ahead of anyone else in the field.
Slovakia’s Matevz Vertelj and Vid Kral finished fourth, while Slovenia’s Peter and Dominik Neupauer rounded out the five sled field.
