From Altenberg, GER
(December 17, 2022) – Germany won gold in the Altenberg Junior World Cup team competition to stay perfect on the 2022/2023 season, cruising to a half second victory over Latvia.
The team of Antonia Pietschmann, Marco Leger and the duo of Jäger and Steudte were each the quickest in their legs of the race on their way to a .561 victory.
The Latvians kept it respectable despite a hiccup from Franceska Bona. They won silver, while Italy won bronze on the strength of the quickest doubles run of the event.
The United States finished fourth, with Austria, Ukraine, Slovakia, and Czechia rounding out the field.
With one team event to go, Latvia is the only team that could take the overall title from Germany in Bludenz. Latvia would need to win and Germany finish outside of the top five for that to happen.
