(December 10, 2022) – Germany cruised to gold in the Team Relay competition, setting the quick time in each leg to win by nearly a full second over Latvia.
Anka Jänicke led things off with a run .2 quicker than Latvia’s Franceska Bona. Marco Leger was also quicker than men’s luge winner Kaspars Rinks, and the team of Kunze and Götze finished the job with the quickest run of the doubles teams.
Latvia finished a solid second, over a full second ahead of the Americans.
The United States took bronze on the strength of the doubles team of Mueller and Haugsjaa moving the team up from fifth into the medals.
Italy, Ukraine, and Czechia rounded out the six team field.
