From Winterberg, GER
(December 9, 2022) – Pascal Kunze and Maddox Götze dominated the men’s doubles competition in Winterberg on Friday, with the duo beating teammates Moritz Jäger and Valentin Steudte by nearly a half of a second.
Kunze and Kötze were the quickest at the start in both heats, and had the best time at each split down the track in Winterberg. Their two finish times were the two quickest runs of the race as they beat their teammates by .452.
The gold for the duo was their first of the season.
Jäger and Steudte won silver, well ahead of anyone behind them. They’d won the first two races of the season, making their silver their third straight medal.
USA’s Marcus Mueller and Ansel Haugsjaa finished third as the only other team within a second of the gold medalists. The bronze was their second on the season and third straight medal.
Germany’s Kunze and Tirippner finished fourth, ahead of Latvian teams of Rinks and Jegorovs and Baltgalvis and Bruns.
