From Igls, AUT
(December 8, 2022) – Adam Ammour won his second IBSF European Cup two-man race of the season, beating out teammate Max Illmann for gold.
Ammour and brakeman Nick Stadelmann had the two quickest pushes of the competition, and set the quickest downtime of each heat on their way to a .26 second victory over Illmann and Lukas Koller.
The win for Ammour was his second in his last three European Cup two-man races. In his five EC races he’s finished in the top five four times.
Illmann’s silver was his fifth medal in five races to start the European Cup two-man season.
Latvia’s Emils Cipulis won bronze, his best ever two-man finish outside of Sigulda.
Romain Heinrich gave France a fourth place finish, while Nico Semmler finished fifth for Germany.
Italy’s Alex Verginer and Eric Fantazzini had the second quickest push in the second heat and combined that with a third quickest slide to move up from 11th to sixth.
Great Britain placed two sliders in the top 20. Nick Gleeson finished 15th, while teammate Adam Baird finished one spot back in 16th.
