From Bludenz, AUT
(December 3, 2022) – Mystique Ro once again out-started the field and slid to victory on the newest track on the European Cup tour, Bludenz.
The American had the quickest two starts of the race, and was fastest at every split along the way on her way to a .21 second victory over Freya Tarbit.
The victory was Ro’s third in four European Cup races, a tour on which she has yet to finish out of the medals on this season. She also had three of the four quickest runs of the Bludenz stop.
Tarbit’s silver medal was also her fourth medal this season. She’s got the other gold on tour, as well as two silvers and a bronze.
Germany’s Viktoria Hansova held off Italy’s Alessandra Fumagalli for the final podium spot in Bludenz, matching second run downtimes with Fumagalli to hold onto her position.
Fumagalli finished fourth, ahead of Tabitha Stoecker of Great Britain in fifth. Stoecker jumped up from sixth in the first heat for the spot, while Germany’s Hanna Staub moved up from eighth to finish sixth.
Great Britain put all four of their women in the top 20, with Isabella Fassnidge in 11th and Bariyat Eyiowuawi in 19th. It was the first start of both Fassnidge and Eyiowuawi’s careers.
Michelle Toukan finished eighth, her first career top ten on the European Cup ciruit.
