(December 3, 2022) – Nico Semmler won his second straight IBSF European Cup four-man gold medal on Saturday, cruising to victory over teammate Max Illmann.
Semmler’s team gave him competitive pushes off the top, and he paired that with the two fastest drives of the race on his way to a .46 second victory over Illmann for his second straight gold medal of the season.
Illmann entered the second heat .04 behind Latvia’s Emils Cipulis, but the German’s second run was very smiliar to his first while the Latvian struggled to find his first run pace. The silver went to Illmann, .09 ahead of Cipulis with bronze.
Patrick Baumgartner continued a strong European Cup tour with a fourth place finish for Italy, while Germany’s Hans Peter Hannighofer finished fifth.
Czechia’s Dominik Dvorak rounded out the top six.
