(November 29, 2022) – Max Illmann won his third two-man gold medal of the 2022/2023 European Cup season on Tuesday, edging out teammate Adam Ammour for the win.
Illmann and Lukas Koller were out-pushed by Ammour and Nick Stadelmann in both heats, but Illmann put down the two best drives of the race to edge out Ammour by .21 over two heats. Ammour and Stadelmann had the two quickest starts of the race to finish second.
Italy’s Patrick Baumgartner put down a strong second run to hold onto bronze, his second straight two-man medal.
Germany grabbed four of the top five spots, with Hans Peter Hannighofer and Nico Semmler in fourth and fifth, respectively, while Romania’s Mihai Tentea finished sixth, only .06 out of fourth.
Liechtenstein’s Martin Kranz finished 12th.
