From Park City, USA
(November 23, 2022) – Lauren Brzozowski and brakewoman Sydney Milani won their first IBSF two-woman gold medals on Wednesday, edging out the previous day’s two-woman winners to take gold.
The Americans entered the second heat .02 behind Viktoria Cernanska and Lucia Krskova, the winners of the third two-woman race of the season. On the second run, Brzozowski and Milani uncorked the quickest start of the race and with it the quickest run of the race. The Slovakians answered with a strong start and quick run of their own, but were just .03 off the pace and finished second.
The gold for Brzozowski was the second of her career and first in two-woman bobsled. For Milani, the gold came in her second career race.
Cernanska and Krskova finished with silver, their second medal of the two-woman season, and Cernanska’s fourth straight medal between two-woman and monobob.
USA’s Sylvia Hoffman won her first medal as a pilot with a bronze medal run, a run that gave brakewoman Rylie Matthews her first career IBSF medal.
American pilots Kaysha Love and Maddy Cohen rounded out the five sleds to take a time.
Canadian Mackenzie Stewart was registered but did not start.
