(November 20, 2022) – France’s Margot Boch completed a complete sweep of the opening Lillehammer stop of the 2022/2023 IBSF European Cup tour with a win in two-woman bobsled on Sunday.
Boch and brakewoman Talia Solitude, who was making just her second IBSF start, were competitive off the top, but by far the quickest in either heat on their way to a .35 second victory over Switzerland’s Martina Fontanive and Mara Morell.
Boch’s fourth straight win between two-woman and monobob gave her the best race weekend of her career with four straight victories.
For Fontanive, the silver was her best finish ever in two-woman bobsled. She’d previously scored a silver medal in the Monobob World Series event in December of 2020 in Winterberg.
Maureen Zimmer won bronze for her second straight two-woman medal and fourth of the weekend.
Romania’s Georgeta Popescu finished fourth, while Great Britain’s Nikki McSweeney finished fifth, a career best as a pilot.
Poland’s Linda Weiszewski rounded out the top six.
Great Britain’s Felicity Bee finished 11th.
