From Park City, USA
(November 19, 2022) – Jinsu Kim won his second straight two-man bobsled race in Park City as he set the quick time in both heats on his way to gold.
Kim and brakeman Kyungyeon Lee were quick off the top in both heats, bested in the first heat only by Trinidad & Tobago’s Axel Brown and Adam Hames, and has the fast time at every split down the 2002 Olympic track on their way to a .19 second victory over the United States’ Geoff Gadbois and Darius Joseph.
The Americans entered the second heat tied with Canada’s Pat Norton and Mathieu Gosselin, .07 out of the lead, but out-raced the Canadians over two heats for Gadbois’s second straight silver medal.
Norton held on for bronze, his first since the 2019/2020 NAC season in Lake Placid.
Brown missed out on his first career medal by .13 and finished fourth. Czechia’s Adam and Michal Dobes finished fifth, while Kristopher Horn and Paul Rabic finished sixth for the United States.
Canada’s Orion Edwards and the United States’ Orion Edwards finished seventh and eighth.
Derek White and Chase Blueberg of the United States had their times disallowed when they were found .9 kg overweight.
