(November 18, 2022) – The International Luge Federation (FIL) has moved the World Cup stop scheduled for Lillehammer on November 13 – 15 to Sigulda, giving the Latvian track back-to-back luge race weekends.
The race is also set to be the European Championships.
“It’s a great pity that we cannot hold our World Cup and European Championships in Norway in January,” FIL President Einars Fogelis said in a statement. “We are very happy to have found a replacement quickly and thank the Latvian federation for their support and flexibility.”
Latvia’s two events are now scheduled for January 6 – 8 with the Team Relay, and then again with Team Relay and European Championships the subsequent weekend.
