Feb. 10, 2021 – Italy’s Evelin Lanthaler won the final race of the 2020/2021 FIL World Cup natural track season to sweep the season and win the Crystal Globe.

Lanthaler trailed Austria’s Tina Unterberger by .04 going into the second heat. On her final run Lanthaler was a half second slower than her first trip, but the run was quick enough to be the fastest of the heat. Unterberger couldn’t match Lanthaler’s second run, setting only the third quickest time of the heat to fall into second place with Lanthaler taking the victory.
Lanthaler’s victory was her 20th in 21 races to take the season sweep and her third straight FIL World Cup title. She has won five overall.
Behind the battle for gold, Greta Pinggera finished with a bronze medal. It was her sixth medal in six races and plenty enough to give her second place in the season points, 125 points ahead of Unterberger, who finished the season in third place.
Italy’s Nadine Staffler finished fourth for the second time in as many races, just .01 ahead of Austria’s Michelle Diepold in fifth. Russia’s Ekaterina Lavrenteva rounded out the top six.
