Votz Wins 2nd European Cup Gold

Feb. 6, 2021 – Stefanie Votz won her second gold of the 2020/2021 IBSF European Cup season by dominating in Königssee.

Votz had the two only runs of under 52 seconds on her way to a 1.37 second victory over Latvia’s Endija Terauda.

Votz overcame a .2 second start deficit in each heat to win each heat by well over a half of a second.

Teruada jumped up from fourth to second with the third fastest run of the season heat to beat out Germany’s Hanna Staub, who moved up from sixth to third.

Anastasiia Tsyganova of Russia fell from second to fourth in the second run, just ahead of Germany’s Julia Simmchen.

Russia’s Polina Tiurina rounded out the top six.

Great Britain’s Rachel Hannagan finished just outside of the top ten in 11th, while Liechtenstein’s Katharina Eigenmann finished 15th.
