From Park City, USA
Jan. 17, 2021 – Carrie Russell won her first IBSF gold medal in Park City, edging out Nicole Vogt in Women’s Monobob World Series action.
Russell opened up a half second lead over Vogt, who had won the previous two Monobob World Series races in Park City. Vogt charged back on her second run, putting down the fast time of the race. While Russell’s second run was only the third quickest, it was still enough to take gold. Vogt finished second, well ahead of Marina Silva Tuono in third.
The United States’ new pilots finished in the next three spots, with Riley Compton, Jenna Weidner and Lauren Brzozoswki rounding out the top six.
Nigeria’s Simidele Adeagbo finished seventh.
