Wimmer Sweeps Winterberg EC Stop

(Nov. 28, 2020) – Sarah Wimmer once again cruised to European Cup gold, and once again she led he charge of a sweep of the podium for Germany.

Wimmer took a .14 second lead into the second heat and then threw down a time a half second faster than anyone else to win by .67 over teammate Corinna Leipold for her second straight gold medal.

Leipold finished second, well ahead of Stefanie Votz and Hanna Staub, who finished third and fourth, respectively.

Elena Scarpellini finished fifth for the second time in two races, while Rachel Hanagan took sixth as the lone British slider in the field.

Liechtenstein’s Katharina Eigenmann finished 16th, one spot ahead of Spain’s Paula Raul.
