From Umhausen, AUT
Feb. 15, 2020 – Evelin Lanthaler finished out another big World Cup season with a dominating performance in Umhausen, taking gold by over a second on the field.
The Italian slider took her sixth of seven available gold medals, beating out teammate Greta Pinggera by well over a second.
Lanthaler had clinched the season title a race earlier, and has won all but three races over the last three seasons.
Pinggera finished second, both in the race and overall. The Italian just had to finish ahead of Tina Unterberger to finish second on the season. In the final race of the year she beat the Austrian by .59 to take the second spot.
Ekaterina Lavrenteva finished third in the race, just .04 behind Pinggera for her only medal of the season. Unterberger finished the race in fourth, ahead of Daniela Mittermair and Michelle Diepold, who rounded out the top six.
The final points tally on the season saw Lanthaler finish 130 points ahead of Pinggera, while Unterberger finished third, 30 points behind Pinggera.
