From Altenberg, GER
Jan. 25, 2020 – Felix Seibel closed out the 2019/2020 season with a sweep of the men’s skeleton races in Altenberg, he left Altenberg both with a pair of gold medals and the season title.
Seibel had the two fastest runs of the race on his way to a .71 second win over Russia’s Vladislav Semenov on his way to his third win of the season. Semenov finished second, ahead of American Samoa’s Nathan Crumpton.
The bronze medal for Crumpton was his first ever in Europe.
Great Britain’s Matt Weston finished fourth, ahead of Ludwig Mannhardt of Germany and Hiroatsu Takahashi, who rounded out the top six.
Seibel had already clinched the season title coming into the race, but solidified his spot with the final gold of the European Cup season. Semenov finished the season in second overall, while Krists Netlaus rounded out the top three in the season standings.
