From Altenberg, GER
Jan. 25, 2020 – Alina Tararychenkova won her second straight European Cup race in Altenberg to close out the 2019/2020 season.
The Russian slider was the quickest in both heats, edging out Agathe Bessard in each, on her way to a .11 win over the French slider.
The gold medal was Tararychenkova’s third during the 2019/2020 season and fifth straight medal, while the silver for Bessard was her third in four races.
Italian Valentina Margaglio finished third on the strength of the fastest push in both heats.
Amelia Coltman finished fourth for Great Britain, ahead of Stefanie Votz of Germany and Latvia’s Darta Zunte in fifth and sixth, respectively.
Great Britain’s Hannah Stevenson finished 12th, while the United States’ Kristen Hurley finished 18th to finish her European Cup season.
Coltman’s fourth place finish was enough to give her the 2019/2020 European Cup title in her first full season on tour. Latvian Endija Terauda finished second in the standings, just ahead of Tararychenkova. Tararychenkova missed the first three races of the season.
