Jan. 18, 2020 – Romania’s Andreea Grecu continued her most successful season as a pilot in Sigulda, edging out Rusia’s Polina Nazaruk for gold.
Grecu was quick off the top and had a .04 advantage over Germany’s Anna Köhler after one run.
On the second run Nazaruk threw down the fast run of the heat. Köhler had trouble in her second run and fell to eighth, leaving the door wide open for Grecu.
The Romanian answered, and though her second run time was slower than Nazaruk’s, it was enough to get her a fourth gold medal of the season, and sixth medal overall.
Nazaruk finished with her first silver medal, while former Romanian slider Maria Constantin finished third for Germany.
