Jan. 12, 2020 – Below are the results from the pursuit race held in Passeiertal.
Doubles Bracket
In the quarterfinal round, Achenrainer & Achenrainer upset Porshnev & Lazarev. Lambacher & Lambacher, Egorov & Popov, and Pigneter & Clara all advanced to the final heat, with the Italian team of Pigneter & Clara setting the fast time in the final.
Lambacher & Lambacher held on for second place, with Achenrainer & Achenrainer finishing third. Egorov & Popov finished fourth.
With their win, Pigneter & Clara left Passeiertal with a commanding lead over Porshnev & Lazarev. Lambacher & Lambacher are third in points.

Women’s Bracket
The top four of the women’s race all made it to the finals of the women’s bracket, with Evelin Lanthaler winning yet again. Her winning streak goes back to the middle of the 2017/2018 season.
Tina Unterberger finished second, while Greta Pinggera took bronze in third. MIchelle Diepold finished fourth.
Lanthaler sits atop the FIL Natural Track Luge points with a perfect 300 points, 60 ahead of Tina Unterberger. Greta Pinggera is third, 25 points ahead of Michelle Diepold.

Men’s Bracket
Thomas Kammerlander became the third men’s luge athlete to win in three races, taking gold in the pursuit.
The top four of the men’s race all made the finals of the pursuit, with Kammerlander edging out Michael Scheikl by .14. Patrick Pigneter, one half of the pursuit winning doubles team, finished third, while teammate Alex Gruber finished fourth.
Kammerlander takes over the World Cup point lead by ten over Scheikl. Pigneter is just 30 out, with Gruber 35 out.
