Dec. 6, 2020 – Wenhao Chen swept Monday’s one-heat skeleton races with a gold in the back half of the double-header.
Once again, Chen had the second quickest start, and once again he beat the competition handily, this time by .6 over Chris Strup.
Strup scored his second consecutive silver medal in IBSF North American Cup competition, edging out China’s Zilong Zhu by .04 for the spot.
Zhu finished with his first career bronze medal, .12 ahead of Ander Mirambell in fourth.
The United States’ Daniel Barefoot finished fifth, while Zheng Yin finished sixth on the strength of the quickest start of the competition.
Kyler Sultemeier finished with his second consecutive 12th place finish, while Hunter Williams scored a career-best finish, tied for 14th with Jeff Bauer.
For Canada, Troy Wilson led the way in 16th, while Jordan Rwiyamilira, Patrick Farias, and James Airey finished just behind him in 17th through 19th, respectively.
