From Königssee, GER
Dec. 22, 2019 – After as close of a race as you can have without a tie in the Königssee, Jonas Jannusch “cruised” to victory in the second race in Bavaria.
The race looked like it would be another tight one, with Jannusch holding only a .02 lead over teammate Bennet Buchmüller. Buchmüller had trouble on his second run, leaving the door wide open for Jannusch.
Though he didn’t need it, Jannusch put down the fastest run of the second heat to cruise to victory and sweep the 4-man program in Königssee, beating Russian Dmitriy Popov. Ralfs Berzins and Timo Rohner tied for bronze.
Mihai Tentea continued his breakout European Cup season with a fifth place finish, while Buchmüller fell to sixth.
Oskars Melbardis never found his groove in Königssee, finishing tenth. British slider Brad Hall finished tied for 12th with Michael Kuonen.
