From Königssee, GER
Dec. 15, 2019 -Endija Terauda won her first career IBSF international gold medal, bettering a strong European Cup field in Königssee.
Terauda, whose previous best was a fourth place in Sigulda, was the quickest in the first heat by over a quarter of a second. On the second run TErauda held her pace, which was enough to beat out Luisa Hornung of Germany. Race 2 winner, Great Britain’s Amelia Coltman, finished third.
Germany put three women in the top five, with Josefa Schellmoser and Hanna Staub finishing fourth and fifth, respectively, while American Mystique Ro sixth for a career-best in Europe.
American Kristen Hurley finished 17th, bettering her 21st place finish from a day prior, one spot ahead of Great Britain’s Hannah Stevenson in 18th.
