From Königssee, GER
Dec. 14, 2019 – Felix Seibel won his first race of the 2019/2020 season, edging out teammate Lukas Nydegger for gold.
Seibel sat third, just .11 behind Latvian Krists Netlaus, going into the second heat. On that second run Seibel set the fast time of the race, putting the pressure on the men around him. Nobody could answer, giving Seibel his first win of the 2019/2020 European Cup season and his second win overall.
Both wins for Seibel have been in Königssee, though the young German has never finished out of the top six in EC action.
Nydegger, who won the first race of the season, finished just .08 out in second, while Netlaus settled for bronze.
Cedric Renner and Ludwig Mannhardt help put all four German men in the top five with their fourth and fifth place finishes, respectively, while Mattia Gaspari finished sixth for Italy.
Austin McCrary finished tenth in a 41-man field for the United States, while Laurence Bostock and Ben Fulker finished 13th and 14th respectively for Great Britain.
