Dec. 6, 2019 – Former brakewoman Andreea Grecu won her second straight IBSF European Cup gold medal, edging out Belgium’s An Vannieuwenhuyse for the top spot.
Grecu came into the second heat in third, behind Germany’s Laura Nolte and Anna Köhler. Grecu moved into the lead with both Germans to go, and neither could bump the Romanian from the top spot. Vannieuwenhuyse was just .02 behind Grecu on her second run to move her into the silver medal spot, only .02 head of Nolte, who finished third.
Köhler finished fouth, ahead of Great Britain’s Mica McNeill and Melanie Hasler of Switzerland.
