Nov. 21, 2019 – Katie Uhlaender edged out Anna Fernstädt in North American Cup action to win her second gold in as many events this season.
Uhlaender opened up a .19 second advantage after the first heat, and edged out Fernstädt out in the second heat to stay perfect in NAC action. Uhlaneder has never lost in NAC action, going six-for-six in the IBSF junior circuit.
Fernstädt came into the second heat tied with American Mystique Ro, but out-slid the American on her way to a silver medal. Ro, despite a fifth-quickest second run, held on to the bronze medal by .01 over French slider Agathe Bessard.
Race 1 bronze medalist Jackie Narracott finished fifth, while Chinese slider Huiyang Lin rounded out the top six.
Lauren McDonald helped put three American sleds in the top ten with a tenth place finish, while a tough second run dropped Michelle Toukan from the top ten back to 20th.
Grace Dafoe led the way for Canada, moving up to 18th from 19th in the first run. teammates Natalie Coughlin and Janelle Khan finished 19th and 22nd, respectively.
Leslie Stratton finished ninth as the lone Swede in the field.
