From Umhausen, AUT
(Feb. 16, 2019) – Pavel Porshnev & ivan Lazarev won their first race of the 2018/2019, taking gold in the season finale in Umhausen. The Russian pair were the quickest in both heats on their way to a half-second win over Patrick Pigneter & Florian Clara.
Pigneter & Clara’s weekend was a pressure-free one, with the duo having already clinched the season title. They were the only team to contend behind Porshnev & Lazarev, finishing .57 back of the winners, but 1.53 seconds ahead of Austrians Rupert Brüggler & Tobias Angerer.
Patrick & Matthias Lambacher finished fourth to finish out their season, while Aleksandr Egorov & Petr Popov and Stanislav Kosvshik & Ilia Tarasov rounded out the top six with a strong Russian showing.
Pigneter & Clara took the season title, 150 points ahead of Egorov & Popov. The Italians never finished off the podium in seven races, winning four golds, two silvers and a bronze.
