(Jan. 25, 2019) – Lubov Chernykh won the European Cup season finale in Sigulda, beating teammate Alena Osipenko by over a full second on her way to victory.
Chernykh, who had been racing on the World Cup prior to this weekend, had the two fastest runs of the race to beat her Russian teammate.
Osipenko finished second, well ahead of French pilot Margot Boch, who finished a career-best third.
German Laura Nolte did not start, and that coupled with Osipenko’s silver medal was enough to give the Russian the European Cup title by four points.
