From Lake Placid, USA
(Jan. 24, 2019) – Felix Keisinger won his third straight Intercontinental Cup race, taking gold in Lake Placid.
The German was the quickest in both heats, edging out teammate Alexander Gassner by .17 seconds. Gassner finished well ahead of Korean Seunggi Jung in third.
Keisinger’s was his 15th straight medal in 15 attempts in the Intercontinental Cup.
Jisoo Kim finished fourth, ahead of Mike Rogals and Craig Thompson in fifth and sixth, respectively.
Thompson will go into the eighth and final ICC race 88 points behind Jung.
The United States had a solid showing on home ice. Along with Rogals’s fifth place finish, Nathan Crumpton finished seventh and Stephen Garbett eighth.
Patrick Rooney was the top finisher for Canada in 11th. Teammates Mark Lynch and Kyle Murray finished 15th and 16th.
Stefan Squire finished 17th as the second British slider.
