From Lillehammer, NOR
(Jan. 13, 2019) – Lonnie Bissonnette completed the sweep of Lillehammer events by cruising to victory in Norway
Bissonnette came into the second heat behind Israel Blanco of Spain. Bissonnette put down a run .19 faster than then-leader Kenneth Jorgensen, finishing .64 ahead of the Norwegian. Blanco struggled on his second run, finishing 15th in the heat and falling to second overall.
Jorgensen finished third, just .04 behind Blanco. Arturs Klots, Corie Mapp,and Pier Alberto Buccoliero rounded out the top six.
The win gives Bissonnette his fourth gold medal in six events and a 108 point lead over Andreas Kapfinger of Austria. Kapfinger struggled in Lillehammer, with a 14th place finish on Sunday.
