From Lillehammer, NOR
(Jan. 12, 2019) – Lonnie Bissonnette returned to his winning form, cruising to gold in Lillehammer.
The 2016/2017 World Cup champion opened up a .71 second advantage over Corie Mapp in the first heat. His second run was third quickest, but plenty fast enough to hang onto the gold medal, eventually winning by .57 over Kenneth Jorgensen.
Jorgensen was the quick slider in the second heat to jump up to the silver medal position from fourth. Israel Blanco finished third, moving up from sixth to win bronze.
Corie Mapp had the fifth quickest time in the second heat and fell from second to fourth, while Christopher Stewart and Guro Konstantin Fronsdal finished fifth and sixth, respectively.
American Steven Jacobo finished 11th.
